On 27 April 2018 the Congress of the Latvian Football Federation elected Kaspars Gorkšs (former FC Blackpool, FC Queens Park Rangers and FC Reading) as the President of the Latvian Football Federation.

The Latvian Football Federation is the governing body of football in Latvia recognized by FIFA and UEFA, and it has been authorized to represent the country at FIFA , UEFA, as well as other sports institutions. The Latvian Football Federation has exclusive rights to organize football championship at all levels in Latvia.
